Letter to Parents concerning the start of school

This is John Marichak, Superintendent of the Dunmore School District.

I am calling to alert you of THIS LETTER we have sent to every household in our District.

THIS LETTER outlines options that we envision shaping the beginning to the 2020-2021 school year.

We are offering a fully virtual option for those who are not comfortable sending their children back to school during the pandemic.  This option is called Accelerate Education.  It is offered through NEIU 19 and facilitated by one of our Dunmore teachers.

If you select this option, you are committed to it until the end of the first marking period.

We also have our in-person educational option.  This will take the form of a traditional school opening or a hybrid model with all of our safety precautions in place.

Also included in our letter is a transportation option.  We have listed our localized stops.  We ask you to indicate which one works best for you or if you can get your child here not utilizing District transportation.

This information is vital to our reopening plan so please return the enclosed form no later than Friday, July 24.  We need it to be as accurate as possible.  The allocations of our resources and assets cannot take place without your input.

The health and safety of our staff and students is our number one priority and we are trying to be prepared for all scenarios.

Thank You

John Marichak, Superintendent, Dunmore Schools
